Responsibilities
  • Promote, lead and execute a Safety-Always culture for all employees, subcontractors, and consultants in compliance with Aecon’s Environmental Health and Safety Program and provincial health and safety legislation.
  • Promote safety in all activities and engage in safe work plan development, hazard assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) and mentorship with the crew.
  • Track and report project, quality control, resource requirements and customer or employee relations to the project team and Operations Manager.
  • Contribute to the development of a construction plan.
  • Understand the scope and sequencing of work.
  • Traffic detours and pedestrian interaction planning.
  • Subcontractor coordination and management between Aecon’s crews and subcontractors.
  • Primary on-site liaison with comprehensive knowledge across diverse scopes of civil construction
  • Bring best practices from other job sites.
  • Understanding of detailed drawings.
  • Ensure pedestrian detours and business access is maintained and free of obstructions.
  • Oversee different downtown job sites and ensure project teams compliance with all assignments, project polices and procedures.
  • Drive quality, efficiency and productivity of project teams and work crews.
  • Manage public interactions
  • Follow project plans and budget while ensuring the project teams and crews perform to meet production goals.
  • Translate drawings, specifications, and work requirements into a prioritized work plan.
  • Work with the Operations Manager and Leads to periodically reassess daily goals to meet forecasted production, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure work completed meets quality standards, that preparation and submittal of required reports, documentation and logs are completed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
