JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This role involves working with students of various ages, providing personalized instruction, and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience in international chess is preferred
• Reach the coach level certified by the Canadian Chess Association (CCA), or hold an equivalent internationally recognized chess level
• Organized or participating in international chess competitions is a plus
• Proficient in English
• Experience one-on-one tutoring
• Experience with Group Classes is a plus
• Be energetic, understanding, reliable and joyful

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and educational goals.
• Teach international chess across various levels, ensuring clarity and comprehension among students.
• Provide class reports timely after each session.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
• Utilize classroom management techniques to create a productive and inclusive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues for learning progress and development area

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: $18.69-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 per week
