BANK Urgent Treatment Centre Out of Hours Driver Responsible to: Lead Driver Pay range: Basic hourly rate: £13.15 per hour, Night hourly rate £15.78 Location: South-East London, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Hours of work: 0000-0800 - 20 hours per week Key Relationships: UTC GPs, UTC Department, UTC Management Greenwich Health Greenwich Health is committed to providing quality of care to our patients whilst building resilience for General Practice and delivering services and programmes of work to deliver care at scale to the Greenwich Population. The post holder will be required to provide support to GPs by transporting them to and from patients for out of hour care. Job Summary Assist the Driver Team Leader/Lead Driver in executing the efficient and timely transportation of Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) services, facilitating the transportation of GPs to deliver patient care. This role supports operational teams through administrative functions.
Main Duties: - Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the fleet’s vehicles to operate any vehicle as needed. - Assist in conducting vehicle checks during shifts to ensure the safety of GPs, oneself, and the public. - Adhere to the driver’s rota and shift schedules in compliance with working time regulations. - Provide support to colleagues to minimize lone working, prioritizing personal and collective safety.

Personal/Professional Development - Post will work toward GP Assistant Certification - Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development - Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work - Attend all relevant annual updates - Inform the lead GP of any concerns regarding GPA role and any professional development needed - Be aware of own professional boundaries and what to do when you have reached them Quality The post-holder will strive to maintain quality within the Practice, and will: - Alert other team members to issues of quality and risk - Work to practice protocols - Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision - Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the teams performance - Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patients needs - Effectively manage own time, workload and resources Communication The post-holder should recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and will strive to: - Communicate effectively with other team members - Be familiar in all mediums of communications such as email, tasks, telephone etc - Communicate effectively with patients and carers - Recognise peoples needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly - Communicate effectively to outside agencies - Communicate clearly with their lead GP Contribution to the Implementation of Services The post-holder will: - Apply Practice policies, standards and guidance - Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work - Participate in audit where appropriate Person Specification Education and Qualifications No formal qualifications are required Knowledge, Training and Experience Essential Must be over 25 years (Under insurance policy) Valid Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record to provide driving licence on annual basis for a DVLA check Must be computer literate with a knowledge of Microsoft Office including including Word, Excel and Outlook Desirable Previous experience of working in a team Previous experience of fleet maintenance Postholder will work towards the GP assistant Certification Communication Skills Desirable Good verbal and writing skills Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Personal Skills Desirable Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative Professional approach to colleagues and at work Ability to maintain confidentialit
