We are tasked with staffing the Lebanon VAMC with a total of three (3) Board-Certified Urologists. The Locations include: the Lebanon VAMC at 1700 South Lincoln Ave the Lebanon VAMC Community Care Clinics: York VA Clinic, 2251 Eastern Blvd., York, PA the Mechanicsburg VA Clinic, 5070 Ritter Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA the Berks VA Clinic 2762 Century Blvd. Wyomissing, PA the Lancaster VA Clinic 212 Willow Valley Lakes Dr. Willow Street, PA The Urologist is expected to do the following: Shall provide clinical urology services including surgeries, consultations cystoscopies and other related urology procedures. Shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time. Shall provide direct patient care including specialty exams such as compensation and pension, agent orange, etc., as it pertains to urological conditions only Shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all urology clinical or surgical patients. Perform surgical procedures specific to female anatomy/urology problems Ability to treat urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse surgically with specific training in the utilization of the mesh involved in this type of surgery. Ability to perform complex urodynamics with specialized equipment. The Urologist is expected to be able to perform the following: Partial and Radical Nephrectomy – Robotics and Open Radical Prostatectomy- Robotics Simple Prostatectomy- Robotics Varicocele – Robotics Partial Cystectomy – Robotics Prostate Fusion Biopsy Vasovasostomy All Aspects of Endourology Complex urodynamics Sexual Dysfunction Recurrent UTIs Requirements Shall be board certified in accordance with American Board of Urology (ABU) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery Certification in Urology Standards. Valid and unincumbered license Valid BLS at least 3 years of relevant experience Must have current privileges to perform both open and robotic abdominal surgery Must be currently credentialed in laparoscopic surgery for robotic laparoscopic cases. Must have experience to perform the traditional open procedure when circumstances dictate. Must have completed an accredited residency or fellowship that included appropriate training in the use of DaVinci surgical system, or completion of hands-on training course and computer learning modules in the use of the DaVinci surgical system, for a minimum of 8 hours with certification and passing grade of 85% on the robotic simulator skills training.
Responsibilities
