What You'll Do The US Gov Risk Management Support role provides centralized, up-funnel risk management support across BCG’s US Government portfolio. The role focuses on protecting eligibility, access, compliance, and reputation across federal and state government pursuits by proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating structural, partner, pipeline, and regulatory risks before bids are submitted. Working closely with US Government Accounts leadership, pursuit teams, Global Public Sector Risk, Legal, Contracts, and external partners, this role serves as a connective tissue across agencies, accounts, and functions, bringing consistency, institutional memory, and disciplined risk management to a complex and highly regulated go-to-market environment. Key responsibilities: Support continuous, cross-agency strategic account planning for US Government clients, helping leadership align priorities, positioning, and engagement approaches across related agencies, states, and pursuits Facilitate leadership alignment and institutional continuity by supporting planning forums, shared materials, and ongoing planning rhythms that extend beyond episodic, pursuit-specific account planning Manage and maintain visibility into the US Government external partner ecosystem, including partner eligibility, certifications, vehicle access, prior performance, and risk considerations Support deconfliction of partner outreach and teaming strategies across concurrent pursuits, agencies, and states to prevent conflicting commitments, eligibility issues, or downstream compliance risk Provide centralized up-funnel risk management support across US federal and state government pursuits, identifying eligibility, compliance, partner, and reputational risks early in the pursuit lifecycle Advise pursuit teams and leadership on compliant teaming, prime–sub, and partner strategies, particularly where BCG cannot prime directly or where statutory small-business requirements apply Serve as a coordination point during irregular, high-impact government events (e.g., government shutdowns, administration transitions, ad hoc procurement or spending reviews), supporting preparedness, internal communications, and consistent firmwide response Partner with Global Public Sector Risk, Legal, Contracts, Finance, and other internal functions to assess and mitigate customer, partner, and structural risk, including input into formal risk assessments where required Maintain compliant, reliable visibility into the US Government pipeline, including manual tracking of opportunities and risk-critical data where federal restrictions limit use of standard systems Partner with system and operations teams on the expert-led design, governance, and transition to a bespoke US Government pipeline solution, ensuring public-sector requirements are embedded and sustained over time Capture and institutionalize lessons learned from complex or high-risk pursuits and events, strengthening institutional memory and reducing repeat risk over time Support related risk management, governance, and operational initiatives as assigned You’re good at: Navigating complex, highly regulated environments and translating statutory, policy, and eligibility requirements into practical, actionable guidance for leadership and pursuit teams Operating effectively across senior leadership, account teams, and functional partners to align priorities and drive progress in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment Anticipating risk before it materializes and bringing structure, clarity, and calm to ambiguous, evolving, or politically sensitive situations Working fluently across federal, state, and local government contexts, with a deep understanding of how differing rules, timelines, and constraints intersect at scale Coordinating across teams and accounts to align approaches, reduce duplication, and prevent inconsistent or non-compliant actions across the US Government portfolio Exercising sound judgment and discretion under pressure, particularly during time-sensitive, high-visibility, or externally scrutinized situations Balancing attention to detail with an understanding of broader strategic, reputational, and institutional implications for the firm Managing multiple competing demands simultaneously while maintaining momentum, credibility, and trust with stakeholders Finding resourceful, pragmatic solutions to complex challenges—overcoming barriers by navigating systems, relationships, and constraints to make things work Building, curating, and maintaining centralized repositories of risk outputs, with hands-on ownership of structure, data quality, and access so teams can quickly find, reuse, and build on prior work. Actively testing and applying AI and automation tools to streamline tracking, synthesis, and analysis of risk and pipeline information, improving day-to-day efficiency and enabling scale within US Government constraints. What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of relevant experience in consulting and US government go-to-market, including work across proposals, contracting, risk management, operations, or related roles Strong familiarity with US federal and/or state government procurement environments, including eligibility, teaming, and subcontracting considerations Demonstrated experience operating across a large professional services firm, working closely with account leadership, pursuit teams, and functional partners to support complex government pursuits and portfolio Proven ability to manage complex, interdependent information and exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive, high-visibility, or reputationally significant matters Strong communication and influencing skills, with a track record of building trust and credibility with senior leaders and stakeholders across functions Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities, balancing rigorous attention to detail with a clear understanding of broader strategic and institutional implications Experience with all Microsoft Office products with strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint U.S. citizenship Experience at BCG or similar consulting firm environment strongly preferred Who You'll Work With You’ll be part of the BCG US Government team, working closely with government account leaders, pursuit teams, and consulting staff, as well as with internal functions such as Global Public Sector Risk, Legal, Contracts, Finance, and Operations.
