REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and comfortable frequently travelling between sites as required
  • An experienced operator (preferably within California), with extensive experience in the hospitality sector with a track record of driving businesses through major periods of growth
  • Well versed in the legalities (licensing, food safety, H&S etc.) of opening & operating large, complex hospitality venues
  • Experience of building high performing, people-centric teams
  • Great financial acumen, experienced in managing multiple P&L accounts
  • Valid passport with no restrictions on USA & EU/UK travel
Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As the US Head of Operations within KERB Ventures, you will oversee the operations of our US expansion. KERB started life in the UK and has expanded operations internationally into Copenhagen and San Francisco in 2024. 2025 is going to be a HUGE year at KERB seeing us launch our 2nd flagship location in Berlin, Germany and further US expansion across our white-label collaboration projects. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of KERB Ventures, this is a high-impact role where your expertise will shape the operations and performance of our growing US footprint. You’ll oversee existing operations at our San Francisco (Saluhall) location and drive the successful operation of our new site in Oakland.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the performance of KERB’s US food hall offering and future expansion
  • Managing and guiding venue management teams to achieve financial goals and KPIs
  • Assisting the Managing Director of KERB Ventures in managing the relationships between all parties in the US, including business partners, management teams, landlords, vendors, clients, etc.
  • Negotiating legal agreements with suppliers, vendors, and contractors, with assistance from KERB UK.
  • Designing and implementing systems to facilitate our expansion
  • Oversight of and accountability for all commercial and compliance activities across current and future food hall locations
  • Working closely with the Managing Director of KERB Ventures to collaborate with current and future investors, alongside other stakeholders
  • Monitoring industry and local trends to propose and implement actions ensuring venues remain profitable and relevant
  • Preparing regular reports on various performance areas to share with relevant teams and stakeholders
  • Coach, mentor, and guide all General Managers of each site and central management team by holding regular meetings and one-on-ones
  • Collaborate with the London HQ People team to develop and execute recruitment, onboarding, training, culture, and L&D projects for new site openings
