Description

Hanna Instruments USA, a part of the largest family owned, vertically integrated manufacturer of analytical instrumentation with a portfolio of 3,000+ products and more than 16 market segments is seeking a US Sales Manager. This individual manages and oversees the organization’s sales team, ensuring that established revenue and profit goals are met. The ideal candidate will be a self- motivated leader with exceptional business development skills to support and contribute to Hanna’s aggressive growth targets. He/She will recommend and assist in the promotion, organization and guidance of sales policies and practices in an efficient manner to maximize market penetration of key products, services and solutions.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS FOR A NATIONAL SALES MANAGER:

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science related field, MBA a plus.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience, including prior sales management experience.
  • Previous experience in product sales dealing with multiple industries and selling a mix of scientific instruments preferred.
  • This position requires being on-site full time in our Smithfield, RI office.
  • Previous experience with end users, channel partners and Key Accounts is required.
  • High energy and hungry to succeed and win.
  • Excellent communication required both written and orally.

Responsibilities
  • Leads, coaches and oversees the work of multiple sales teams who are responsible for selling Hanna Instruments, products and services.
  • Manages all sales activities with a focus on end user sales, while ensuring goals and objectives are met and holding the team accountable.
  • Experienced penetrating Key Accounts and actively sells our products and services by further developing relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Works closely with the President of US Operations to ensure that the operations of the business are effectively supporting sales goals and initiatives.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge of the company’s product lines, applications and competitive intel to increase market penetration.
  • Clearly defines significant opportunities within target markets and drives the team to ensure these opportunities are fully pursued through our existing products and solutions.
  • Provides competitive assessments, product or sales training, or pricing and contract assistance to the sales team.
  • Works closely with marketing to develop campaigns and innovative ways to best promote our products and services.
  • Oversees lead generation and/or qualification and ensures funnels are managed to improve speed and close ratio.
  • Manages sales quotas for teams and individuals and tracks performance against expectations, making the necessary course corrections and/or talent changes as needed.
  • Provides sales forecasts and related reports for senior management for use in strategic planning.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with other senior management.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% to meet with customers, support employees, and attend tradeshows or other conferences, seminars or community events.
