About the Role Lighthouse Software Group is looking for a detail-oriented US Tax Analyst to support federal, state, and sales/use tax compliance across a growing portfolio of US entities. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, ideal for someone who enjoys multi-entity work, solving technical tax issues, and supporting post-acquisition M&A transactions. Key Responsibilities Corporate Income Tax (Federal & State) - Prepare and review US federal and state corporate income tax returns (Form 1120 and related schedules). - Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions, true-ups, and supporting workpapers. - Track state filing requirements, notices, extensions, and payments. - Maintain tax basis schedules and fixed asset/tax depreciation support. Sales & Use Tax - Manage monthly/quarterly sales and use tax filings across multiple states. - Support Nexus studies, VDAs, new state registrations, and tax account setups. - Review Avalara/NetSuite mappings, monitor exemption certificates, and resolve taxability issues. Post-acquisition M&A Support - Assist with tax account changes, sales and use account setups in Avalara. - Support integration of new entities into compliance cycles. General Tax Operations - Maintain organized workpapers and reconciliations in accordance with internal controls. - Assist with responding to federal and state tax notices. - Coordinate with external advisors (Big 4/regional firms) as required. - Support ad-hoc tax research and special projects. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA is an asset. - 1–3+ years of US corporate or state and local tax experience (public accounting or industry). - Working knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance and sales/use tax rules. - Experience with Avalara, NetSuite, or similar systems is a strong plus. - Strong Excel and analytical skills. - Ability to work accurately, independently, and manage multiple deadlines.
