US Tax Assistant Department: Corporate Tax Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: City, London Compensation: £28,000 - £35,000 / year Description We are seeking an experienced US Tax Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a broad background in US tax laws and regulations, tax planning, compliance and client management. As a Tax Assistant you will work on a portfolio of US clients and be involved in tax projects, provide strategic tax advice, be involved in compliance processes, and foster strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities Work on a portfolio of US clients: be involved all aspects of the tax compliance and assist with relationship management. Prepare US tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates. Assist in maintaining relationships with clients, identify missing information for tax preparation and communicating this in a timely and professional manner. Support Manager and Director in providing market-leading advice to US connected clients in the UK. Ability to manage workload to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Focus on continuing to develop your technical knowledge with the support of the team, including studies toward tax qualifications such as Enrolled Agent. Work collaboratively with the wider tax team. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise US Enrolled Agent (EA) is not essential but preferred. Previous experience in US tax compliance and advisory services in personal and owner managed businesses, including preparing Streamlined filings, Forms 1040, 1040NR, 3520, 5471 and 8858 preferred but not required in all areas. Previous experience in US tax compliance services in corporation and partnership tax, including form 1120, 1120-F, and 1065 preferred but not required in all areas. UK tax technical knowledge is preferred but not required. In-depth knowledge of US compliance and extension requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify tax issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members at all levels. Benefits
