Responsibilities

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:

Reporting to the Vice President, Tax, the US Tax Manager will be responsible for the calculation of tax provision and related financial statement disclosures for quarterly reporting related to our US based entities, and the preparation of annual income tax filings. The role also includes the review and filing of US State Use Tax returns, and the maintenance of all tax accounts. Additionally, continuous process improvements to maintain SOX compliance and other special projects. Strong knowledge of data management and tax automation is an asset.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, HERE ARE SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of quarterly tax provision for all US entities, support for preparation of note disclosures, and coordinating with external audit firm in quarterly review and year-end audits
  • Preparation, review of month-end closing tasks related to income tax accounts, estimated tax payments, and State Use Tax return filings and analysis
  • Tax audit support, including research on issues raised by auditors and preparation of responses.
  • Documenting the Company’s tax related accounting policies in accordance with IFRS and maintenance of tax accounts
  • Preparation of year-end tax returns for US entities, calculation and payment relevant federal and state estimated tax payments
  • Supporting reviews of property tax and employment tax issues for existing operations and business development opportunities
  • Assist in other special projects, ad hoc reporting requirements and SOX requirements
