Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Business Center Practice Leader to drive U.S. federal business growth and delivery, with a particular focus on federal clients across the West Region (Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Alaska, Oregon, California and Hawaii). The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing program opportunities and leading delivery teams across Stantec’s business markets in the West. The position will predominantly support U.S. government agencies, nationwide and may support projects across our Water Infrastructure practice. This position requires a close working relationship with government officials and Stantec’s U.S. federal client account managers and federal business operating unit (BOU) leaders, and you will report to the West Regional Growth Leaders.
The successful candidate must have a background and deep understanding of delivering professional services to Federal clients across architectural-engineering (A/E) design, facilities engineering, environmental, and construction projects. The successful candidate must also have superb client relationship skills and an ability to win major A/E type contracts (Brooks Act-SF 330s) and/or other major program contracts including those via alternative delivery methods such as Design/Build, Construction Manager at Risk, and Progressive Design Build project delivery. This role will assist in developing and implementing Stantec’s U.S. federal business growth strategies and objectives. The successful candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of our industry partners and competitors and must maintain excellent relationships with the ability to put together teams and equip them with the required resources to succeed. The duties of this role also include managing and maintaining our small business partnerships on major pursuits and our mentor-protégé relationships and specific opportunities to grow that partnership. As a leader of federal business development, the successful candidate will cultivate new and maintain existing partnerships and projects with federal government agency officials including, but not limited to, the Depart of Defense, Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Air Force Civil Engineering Command (AFCEC), Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture, General Services Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and others. The successful candidate will apply an in-depth understanding of federal procurement processes and contracting mechanisms, including rules, regulations, and compliance requirements to help capture and win large, complex contracts/projects while helping to shape and implement the annual federal business development strategy.
