Position Summary... What you'll do... Role summary: Join Walmart as a Software Engineer III, contributing to the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements. About the team: The Containers team is part of the Global Technology Platform organization, delivering the Walmart Cloud-Native Platform (WCNP), a robust Kubernetes platform managing thousands of clusters across Public, Private, and Edge environments. The team focuses on providing a seamless containerized application hosting experience for developers across multiple cloud providers and on-premises data centers. Operating at scale, the team supports the Edge program in stores and fulfillment centers while expanding WCNP’s footprint internationally. This dynamic environment emphasizes continuous development, platform design, and technical excellence to drive innovation and operational efficiency. What you'll do: • Develop and support Walmart's massive Kubernetes platform across public, private and edge computing environments. • Build and improve our Kubernetes multi-cluster deployment product. • Direct root cause analysis of critical business and production issues. • Lead and direct large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects. • Lead the design and overall architecture of the platform. • Be a technical lead and drive the team towards building a highly scalable and performing Container platform. • Mentor the team members and help in enhancing team's productivity. • Bring new ideas for product enhancement. • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. What you'll bring: • Prior Software Engineering experience at a startup, or mid to large sized corp. • Proficient oral and written communication skills. • Go programming language proficiency. Java is also nice to have. • Working knowledge in container and cloud native technologies - Kubernetes, Docker, other • Prior experience developing or working with Cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OpenStack is highly desired. • Prior experience developing or working with CI/CD or GitOps systems is highly desired. • Prior experience of building a Kubernetes operator is good to have. • Knowledge of opensource tools like Istio, Prometheus, Fluentbit is good to have At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet.
