The Role
Fisher & Paykel is an iconic global brand with a strong local heritage. Our origins inspire our culture of curiosity and passion to develop solutions designed around people - these are some of the core elements that make us unique. We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious. As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world’s most human-centred appliance brand.
What’s the opportunity
This is your chance to join this small specialist team that is genuinely passionate about the work they do in delivering consistent, precise, and user-first content experiences that enhance product understanding and use, enable seamless design planning and installation, and ensure Fisher & Paykel’s compliance in specific markets.
In this Fixed Term position through until December 2026 as our User Content Developer based in Dunedin you will primarily be responsible for applying curiosity, logic, and openness in absorbing essential product information from a Product Development (engineering) lens and distilling and transforming it to customer-facing content. You’ll work across all our Fisher & Paykel Appliances product lines so there’s plenty of diverse work to do!
Operate seamlessly between big picture (why) and obsession for detail (how) to deliver compelling content design outcomes. Ask the right questions as a user/customer advocate, ensuring there is no ambiguity in product content. You will ensure assets are developed and released in line with established formal review, approval, and release processes, ensuring high quality outcomes delivered to aligned timing plans.
That’s the role, so who are you?
You’ll likely have relevant experience in technical writing for consumers and passion for customer-centric information design. You will be a highly collaborative person who enjoys the nuances of working across different stakeholder groups. You’ll be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail and an attitude driven to succeed.
On a technical side, intermediate Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) is desired, and an understanding of Microsoft Suite is needed. 3D knowledge (Creo, Solidworks, Rhino, Revit) would be advantageous.
What’s on offer
Our collaborative supportive team environment is designed to allow people to thrive. Our culture is one in which our people can constantly develop, working alongside a team of talented and skilled professionals. You’ll be part of a team-based culture that offers great development opportunities, leading technology, work/life balance, competitive remuneration and a generous superannuation scheme. Our Dunedin office provides an awesome professional and vibrant working space right in the centre of town, and we offer a hybrid work option.
The role is available for an immediate start so apply now! This won’t last.
