Ocean Infinity is seeking a USV Systems Lead to provide technical oversight to the system of systems associated with each vessel within the USV product portfolio.

What will you do:

  • Architect remote and autonomous systems-of-systems to meet long-term Ocean Infinity’s operational requirements;
  • Develop remote systems in line with the feature roadmap in partnership with internal and external suppliers;
  • Develop the Concept of Operation for each USV product based on operational and commercial requirements;
  • Specify and act as the design authority for the system of systems specified, procured, integrated and commissioned on each USV platform;
  • Be responsible for the requirements for all USV enabling systems on each USV product, including specifying remote systems, sub-systems and component parts. This excludes the vessel build and delivery;
  • Integrate, test, commission and deliver the USV enabling systems into service;
  • Provide line management and support to direct line reports;
  • Comply with Ocean Infinity Policies, practices, programs, and procedures as described in the Ocean Infinity management system;
  • Participates in improving the Ocean Infinity management system by reporting events, attending meetings and workshops, reporting problems, and recommending improvements, as well as other related activities;
  • Informs their manager/responsible person of any unidentified risks, hazards, or system deficiencies in the workplace by using Stop Work authority, SOB card reporting, Incident reporting or by reporting directly to relevant personnel;
  • Communicates and implements Ocean Infinity’s policies and procedures and their requirements to employees, visitors, and contractors;
  • Supports Ocean Infinity’s Health and safety, Environmental and Social goals;
  • Additional duties and areas of responsibility as delegated by USV Product Lead.

Who you are:

  • Certified systems engineer (degree or similar);
  • Experienced in remote and autonomous vessel systems design and integration;
  • Subject matter expert in remote navigation and engineering systems for small and medium USVs;
  • Management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Forward thinking and willing to challenge and change;
  • Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet;
  • Highly delivery driven work ethic;
  • Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of unmanned surface vessel regulatory assurance process;
  • Experience in offshore survey systems.

Salary for this position: Up to £70,000 per annum
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
