Title: Utilities Engineer – Public Works & Municipal Infrastructure (Direct Hire)
Location: Cayce, SC
Salary: $68,000–$90,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time Direct Hire
We are a recruiting and staffing agency assisting a local government department with the direct hire of a Utilities Engineer to support infrastructure planning, development, and operations for public utility systems in the Cayce area. This position is ideal for professionals with a background in municipal utility design, civil infrastructure, and public works projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in public works, municipal utility design, civil design, construction and operations, or equivalent education and background.
Strong understanding of water and sewer infrastructure systems and related regulatory standards.
Proficiency with drafting/design software and interpreting technical drawings.
Prior experience supporting municipal or government engineering projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Review site and subdivision plans for accuracy, engineering standards, and regulatory compliance.
Evaluate commercial and residential development plans for water and sewer service connections.
Provide field observation of capital improvement projects to ensure compliance with approved designs and assist with contractor oversight.
Support the bid process by preparing RFPs, reviewing estimates, and negotiating with vendors and contractors.
Develop project reports, prepare funding invoices, and oversee project closeouts.
Utilize drafting and design software, field tools, and electronic equipment for technical planning and documentation.
