Refresco, the world’s largest independent soft drinks manufacturer, is seeking a Utilities Maintenance Engineer to join our highly experienced utility maintenance team.
ABOUT YOU:
We are currently seeking an NVQ Level 3 or above-trained Maintenance Engineer to join the team to work across the department and shifts developing the necessary skills for this challenging role.
As a qualified maintenance engineer, you will have hands-on experience in carrying out basic maintenance activities and can demonstrate good foundational knowledge of Engineering practices. A positive outlook and a desire to deliver the service levels required by the site, is key to success in this position.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Utilities and Operational Engineering Manager, the Utilities Engineer role is extremely varied and requires excellent decision-making skills, a “can do” attitude and the ability to make and support business critical decisions. The utilities team looks after the effluent plant, steam boilers, compressed air systems, and much more.
THE DAILY TASKS AS A UTILITIES MAINTENANCE ENGINEER AT REFRESCO
- Ensure Utility service levels are maintained to support the production requirements of the site.
- Maintain department standards to the highest level
- Support budget delivery through effective maintenance and spare parts management
- Identify energy-saving opportunities and asset downtime reduction projects
- Actively support the delivery of GPTW initiatives
- Ensure Health & Safety and Statutory compliance of all assets within the Utilities Department.
- Carry out continual site monitoring to manage site environmental compliance.
- Carry out PPM activities and corrective actions
- Maintain hygiene and GMP standards across the utilities department as well as designated area.
- Manage contractor control on a daily basis
- Respond to crisis management through extended cover, call-ins and remote monitoring.
AS WELL AS THE DAILY TASKS THERE WILL BE SOME DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES, INCLUDING:
- Become first response for all Site Utilities
- Steam and condensate systems
- HP/LP Compressed Air,
- Water Treatment and distribution,
- Effluent treatment and disposal
- Chemical dosing and delivery systems,
- Cooling Tower and Legionella Control Systems
- Building Management Systems
- Canteen and Colleague welfare Facilities
- Air Handling and fixed Cooling equipment
- Roller, Rapid, Fire and Pedestrian DoorsFire suppression and detection Systems
