Description Utility Associate Facilities Full-time HOUSTON, TX Description POSITION SUMMARY: We manufacture, process and pack fencing supply orders for customers and distribution facilities all over the US, ensuring accurate and successful delivery. The Utility Associate position is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment at our facility. Working as a part of a team, you will be assigned areas of the facility to maintain. Your responsibilities will include cleaning of assigned facility and office areas, common areas, and restrooms in administrative building and plant/warehouse. In this role, a high level of customer service will be necessary since you will be working directly with other Merchants Metals associates each day. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide day to day custodial care of buildings, offices, and facilities at assigned locations according to established schedules. Clean tables, desks, benches, restrooms, guard rails, floors, dust furniture and woodwork; sweep, mop, vacuum, and shampoo carpeted areas. Clean and sanitize kitchen, breakrooms, and restrooms; wash sinks, mirrors, and toilets; empty trash receptacles; replenish soap, towel, and other dispensers. Identifies and reports needed repairs, special custodial needs, and security concerns. Maintain records related to work performed, request supplies and cleaning materials according to established procedures. Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment. Assists other custodians with work as needed. Great attendance and attitude. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements High school diploma or GED At least one (1) year of relevant custodial experience. Must be able to work overtime as required. · Physically able to continuously stand and walk; requires constant movement. · Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. in a non-climate-controlled environment. · Physically able to push, pull, bend, climb, lift, squat, stoop, and stretch to reach frequently.
Responsibilities
The Utility Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment by performing custodial tasks in assigned areas of the facility. This includes cleaning offices, restrooms, and common areas while ensuring a high level of customer service.
