Description
ESP Associates is seeking a Utility Coordination Group Manager to lead and grow the firm’s Utility Coordination and SUE efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key leadership role within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm, combining technical expertise with responsibilities in marketing, business development, process development, office growth, and field coordination program advancement. Responsibilities: * Lead and manage the utility coordination process from project planning and design through construction * Identify potential utility conflicts for roadway and bridge construction projects, develop resolution strategies, and report findings per client and agency guidelines * Interface and maintain relationships with multiple public and private utility owners * Serve as Group Manager for the Utility Coordination / SUE team, including mentoring, training, and developing technical staff * Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of utility coordination and SUE personnel * Establish and refine standard operating procedures, workflows, and best practices for utility coordination and SUE field services * Develop and implement efficient, scalable utility coordination processes integrating design, SUE, and construction phases * Support and lead business development and marketing efforts for utility coordination and SUE-related services, including proposals, scope writing, fee development, and project interviews * Strengthen existing client relationships and identify opportunities for new clients, markets, and geographic expansion; represent ESP at industry meetings, conferences, and client presentations * Contribute to office growth strategies, workload planning, and operational alignment; assist leadership with forecasting, staffing, and strategic planning * Manage multiple projects concurrently across the firm’s service areas * Travel required Qualifications: * Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in utility coordination, SUE, engineering, construction, and/or utilities; experience beyond five years preferred for management level. * Demonstrated experience managing utility coordination for roadway and bridge projects. * Prior leadership, supervisory, or group management experience preferred. * Must have strong oral, written, and organizational skills. * Must be able to multi-task, manage multiple projects, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines. * Experience with Texas and Western US utility coordination projects preferred. * Must have the ability to travel. * Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.    Corporate Information: ESP is a multi-discipline engineering design and consulting firm providing our clients with civil engineering, surveying, planning/landscape architecture, geosciences, environmental, subsurface utility engineering, and construction engineering inspection.
