Description: This position primarily serves a Utility role in Dining Services (dishwashing, receiving/stocking supplies, transporting/delivering food for outside catering, plating food, and cleaning). Washes and adequately stores dishes, pots, and pans; restocks trays and flatware on the serving line or storage area as needed. This position may also be responsible for food and beverage preparation, documentation of charts and records, following the menu and recipes, production, distribution, inventory, and development and maintenance of product specifications. Must follow policies regarding sanitation, food handling, safety, confidentiality, personal appearance and hygiene, reporting hazardous conditions and accidents, and attendance at in-service training while maintaining a high-quality service to residents. This position may also drive the catering van for daily catering service. Based on previous experience and qualifications, the starting base rate is $13.75 - $17.47 per hour. Work Schedule 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, Mon - Fri, maybe some weekends up to 80 hours per pay period Why Join VMRC? Must have working knowledge of HACCP and OSHA protocols. Must be detail-oriented, possess basic mathematical skills; be able to read, speak, and understand the basics of the English language and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to act, intervene independently in routine and emergency situations, be self-motivated, participate in holiday activities, and maintain positive relationships with residents and co-workers. Must be able to overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled. Must be willing to cross-train in various job duties within VMRC Dining Services. Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, and customer first manner. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision. Self-motivated, able to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes. Position requires long hours standing, restock supplies and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
