Description
The Hatchery Utility Worker is essential to the successful operation of the hatchery. This position entails a variety of responsibilities, including the careful handling of eggs to ensure their safety and viability, monitoring incubation conditions to optimize hatching outcomes, and efficiently processing chicks post-hatching. Furthermore, the individual is tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the facility, adhering to strict hygiene protocols to foster a healthy environment for both eggs and chicks. This role requires the execution of general labor tasks, such as cleaning and organizing workspaces, while also providing assistance to other departments as necessary to facilitate seamless hatchery operations. Qualifications * Drive the Mule to transport chicks to the separator when the mule operator is unavailable. * Assist with the cleanup process after processing the chicks.  * The work schedule is on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, unless it is a holiday week when processing occurs on Wednesday. Nonetheless, it will still be a 4-day work week from 5am- to 3pm.  * Fill in for the tray wash and cull table at the end of the line by removing chick baskets and placing them with their respective loads. * Operate the chick separator and drive the Mule to transport chick baskets for processing.  * Perform general hatchery labor as needed. * Operate power tools, hand tools, and potentially vehicles or machinery. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (or more) and perform repetitive motions, including bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling. * Must be capable of working in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, damp, dusty, and noisy areas.
