Job Details Job Location: Catawba Mill - Catawba, SC 29704 Position Type: Full Time Travel Percentage: None Job Category: General Labor SUMMARY: The Utility Worker will work as part of a team to perform a variety of tasks required for safe and efficient operation of their assigned process area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Required to efficiently and safely perform clean- up and operational tasks for the assigned production process. Required to operate manual valves and inspect a range of processes. Required to perform housekeeping tasks for the assigned process area. Required to be an active participant of all safety efforts, including adherence to policies and procedures. Will work as a group and independently to accomplish an assortment of tasks. Will serve as a task runner for various responsibilities PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. Employee must regularly climb up and down multiple levels of stairs. Employee is required to mount and dismount equipment frequently during the course of a workday. The employee is frequently required to pull, push, or lift heavy weights of paper, baling wire or strapping, or “breaker” bars (wedge with wooden handle, used to start a roll moving). Employee will occasionally be expected to push rolls of paper that weigh 1,000 to 10,000 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is loud. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Frequently exposed to hot and/or cold conditions. Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; vibrations. Qualifications SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent required, with a degree in Manufacturing Technology preferred. Minimum of (2) years of experience with a stable work history, preferably in manufacturing Must be 18 years of age. Ability to operate industrial machinery (such as fork trucks and control panels) and testing/measuring instruments. Must have functional knowledge of basic computer systems Ability to work at various heights, temperature and weather conditions. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include overtime. Ability to follow detailed instructions including reading a tape. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Team-oriented and self-directed. Ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Must show proficiency in mathematics, locating information and reading for information which will be assessed and measured by the Work-Keys Profile

Responsibilities

The Utility Worker will perform clean-up and operational tasks for the assigned production process while ensuring safety and efficiency. They will also participate in safety efforts and may work independently or as part of a team.
