PRIMARY TALENT PARTNERS HAS A 12 MONTH CONTRACT OPENING FOR A PROJECT MANAGER TO JOIN A LARGE POWER AND UTILITIES COMPANY FOR A HYBRID POSITION OPERATING OUT OF RALEIGH, NC.

Pay: $67.00/hr - $77.00/hr
Contract: 12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible
Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship
Hybrid: 40 hours per week, Onsite 3 days per week in Raleigh, NC
Travel: One or two site visits/year may be required. Personal vehicle will be driven with mileage reimbursed.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The person in the Project Manager II (PM II) position will manage a portfolio of various type projects in various stages of the lifecycle of Development. The PM II will be under the general direction of a Manager, Project Management and be accountable for managing all aspects of their projects to ensure all success factors are met, including but not limited to scope, cost, schedule, compliance, environmental, safety, communications, security, and quality. This person must be able to collaborate well with all the stakeholders of the project to develop a high-quality product for hand-off to the Execution team.
The PM II must understand the Project Development process, communicate well, lead effective meetings by establishing a clear objective and driving the agenda, understand business processes (budgeting, funding, risk management, compliance, etc.), and be competent in MS Office tools.
This position is typically retained to manage multiple Green I or Green II projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 9 years of project management experience.
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university.
  • Proficient in project management principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters - business (MBA), project management, or equivalent.
  • Utility Technical Certifications/Training; PMP or CAPM Certification; CMII/Construction Certifications; Professional Engineer License.
  • Working knowledge to proficiency in project related Scheduling/ Cost Controls.
  • Experience in utility industry. Knowledge in construction management.
  • The Project Manager II may have relationships with individuals in various organizations ranging from individual contributors to Senior Department Leadership (i.e. individual contributors up to executive management).
