Description

We are recruiting certified Utility Tree Trimmers (UTTs) / Utility Tree Workers (UTWs) for upcoming project assignments in Barrhead, Alberta. This role will supervise bunchers, mulchers, and saw crews to oversee powerline widening and vegetation mowing of powerline ROW.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Utility Tree Trimmer/Certified Utility Arborist ticket through PVMA.
  • Powerline and Pipeline Experience an asset
  • 5 years’ experience in tree trimming, pruning, and removal, preferably in a utility or industrial setting
  • Familiarity with operating a Feller Buncher and other vegetation management equipment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions
  • Strong tree and shrub identification skills
  • Must have valid provincial driver’s license. Air brake endorsement is considered an asset
  • Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Good hand eye coordination
  • Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis
  • Must be fit-for-duty and in good physical condition
Responsibilities
  • Assist in widening powerline Right-of-Way (ROW) using a Feller Buncher
  • Collaborate with certified hand fellers to safely fall hazard trees
  • Work alongside hand slash crews to prepare sites for mowing projects
  • Responsible for climbing, trimming, and removing trees as per work specifications
  • Perform required general maintenance and daily inspection of equipment
  • Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways
  • Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
  • Ensure all SRG’s safety policies and procedures are adhered to
