Description
Our Utility person - Mechanical works within a close-knit team to deliver on major works across all Australian sites on Caterpillar Gas and Diesel engines.  The key areas of responsibility for this role include: * Working on Caterpillar gas engines. * Reconditioning of Cylinder heads and small components. * Assessing parts for reuse and reconditioning engines and other equipment. * Supervising apprentices in training and teaching correct work practices. * Testing engines on completion of overhaul; * Painting and prepare engines for dispatch to site; * Involved in removal and installation of engines onsite * General housekeeping responsibilities; * Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations; * Support and comply with Company Policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors; and * Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required. * Maintain the safety culture to a high standard. * Mentoring / training apprentices. * Travel to sites around Australia to undergo breakdown activities.   We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with good communication skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative.
