JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: UX Designer (12-Month FTC)
LOCATION(S): Halifax / Leeds

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for someone who can work collaboratively alongside a full design team, with a willingness to learn from – and support other Interaction Designers. They will be comfortable working with existing design systems and be an advocate of great User Experience (UX).

As a UX Designer, it’ll be your role to:

  • Design and layout pages and User Interfaces, skilfully and creatively using components from a central design system to figure out the right balance of content and UI (User Interface) elements on screen
  • Bring your designs to life with a choice of prototyping software, such as Sketch / InVision / Figma / Axure / Adobe XD
  • Balance business requirements with user needs – you’ll be learning from other designers how research and rationale can align internal customers on individual user needs. You’ll learn when to diplomatically push back, if necessary, to act on what’s right for the customer
  • Be adaptable to the technical constraints of different platforms yet still be able to give guidance on creating the best possible end user experience
  • Learn about and become an advocate customer inclusion – what it means to make an inclusive and accessible design to be used by customers of a wide range of ages, backgrounds and technical abilities
