QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in UX design, preferably in a federal consulting or government environment
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of UX design skills, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Understanding of human-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with accessibility and Section 508 compliance guidelines is a plus
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Bixal is seeking a highly skilled UX Designer to join our team and help us deliver exceptional user experiences for our government clients. The UX Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct user research, develop service wireframes, and ensure backend services support intuitive, accessible, and consistent user experiences across web and mobile platforms. They will play a key role in aligning back-end capabilities with front-end design needs, using human-centered design principles to improve the Veteran experience across the VA’s digital health tools.
This is a full-time position contingent on contract award by our client, with a defined performance period of one year with two one-year option periods. This role offers you a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a project that aligns with Bixal’s mission of delivering innovative, human-centered solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting user research to understand the needs, goals, and preferences of government employees and citizens who use our digital products and services
  • Creating user personas, user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes that effectively communicate design ideas and concepts to stakeholders
  • Collaborating with other designers, developers, and project managers to ensure that design solutions are aligned with project requirements and timelines
  • Conducting usability testing and gathering feedback from users to continuously improve the user experience
  • Supporting the development of design processes, workflows, and standards that enable efficient and effective design operations
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and techniques, and sharing knowledge with the team to promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Other duties and responsibilities as trained and qualified to perform.
