SUMMARY / ROLE PURPOSE

Are you a motivated UX designer who’s passionate about crafting intuitive interfaces for complex systems? Do you want your work to directly support space missions, satellite operations, and national defense? Join us at Ansys Digital Mission Engineering (DME), where you’ll help build the next generation of our flagship aerospace mission modeling software: STK Next.
Ansys DME creates cutting-edge, commercial off-the-shelf software for the aerospace and defense industries. Our tools are trusted across the full mission lifecycle — from concept design to operational execution — by engineers and mission planners at Fortune 500 companies, startups, government agencies, and everything in between.
For over 35 years, we’ve been helping our customers push boundaries using physics-based simulation and mission modeling software that’s grounded in reality.
This role is based in Exton, PA and it is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a UX Designer on the STK Next team, you’ll collaborate with developers, subject matter experts, field engineers, and product managers to design high-quality, user-centric experiences. You’ll help transform complex workflows into intuitive interfaces and ensure consistency across a growing Design System.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting user research to identify UI pain points and uncover user needs
  • Working directly with domain experts to understand complex systems
  • Creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups
  • Developing and managing reusable components within an enterprise-level Design System to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
  • Analyzing and documenting UI patterns and design standards
  • Leading or participating in design critiques and UX review sessions
  • Supporting usability testing and incorporating user feedback into design iterations

Note: This is a design-focused role and does not require coding, though familiarity with HTML/CSS is a plus.
