WHAT IS THE JOB?
Reporting to the Senior UX Manager, the post-holder will contribute to the development of the digital roadmap for VisitScotland’s consumer websites. The department plays a key role in driving growth in the visitor economy through a programme of customer acquisition, retention and engagement, with a focus on research and optimisation in order to connect more visitors with tourism business across Scotland.
The post-holder will use a broad range of user research techniques, will be experienced in using web analytics and UX analysis tools, and working across departments in agile project teams will be able to produce user testing scripts, analysis of research and testing, recommendations based on research analysis, specifications, wire frames and user stories to help guide UI visual design to ensure optimal customer journeys. They will not be required to produce UI designs as we have a dedicated Design team who we work with.
They will have a strong set of technical and digital skills, full understanding of WCAG standards and inclusive design, plus awareness of current development practices, good stakeholder management skills and a strong basis in design thinking methodology.
The post-holder will act as the voice of the user in digital projects. Starting with user insight they will use a variety of techniques to inform design and development and continue UX assessments through to final testing and reporting of implemented changes.
