Integrated Logistics (NL) Ltd is a full-service stevedoring and materials handling company with operations across the province. Integrated Logistics continues to grow its operations and is expanding its employee base. Currently, we are seeking candidates with relevant training and experience for Vac Truck Operator positions on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, on both day and night shifts, 7 days on 7 days off, employees are expected to move between equipment pieces plus other tasks, including labour work to complete full assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class 01 or 03 driver’s license with Air Brake Endorsement and Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • A minimum of three years of previous vac truck or similar industrial equipment or similar role (preferred)
  • Up-to-date vaccinations for wastewater work
  • Mechanical aptitude ability and able to perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance.(Asset)
  • Ability to embrace, scope of work, flow to work and safe work practices, while participating in a respective workplace

Responsibilities

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Class 01 & 03 Vac Truck equipment, transport vehicles, to support site services.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. with an average weight of 40 to 50 lbs. for undetermined periods of time;
  • Perform thorough trip inspections on commercial vehicles, reporting maintenance or safety issues
  • Maintain accurate records, while adhering to all safety and compliance standards, including regulations concerning hazardous materials (if applicable).
  • Follow standard procedures for hazard assessments, site setup, safe operation, waste transport, and documentation (waste manifests, job reports)
  • Perform labor tasks involving the handling of waste water, mineral concentrates and other chemical reagents, necessitating full-face respirator use and full body sealed Tyvek suits.
  • Maintain a clean-shaven appearance and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours) when working in conditions with dust, particulates, vapors, fumes, or mist.
  • Participate in Integrated Logistics flow to work program which sees workers move between tasks, equipment pieces and labour assignments throughout the shift and their career.

TYPICAL WORK TASKS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Complete Vac Truck Operations and other vehicles to support site services.
  • Snow clearing and road maintenance - with hand tools or equipment as required
  • Receiving goods form trucks, ships and other transport mediums
  • Cargo handling in bulk and packaged forms
  • Install and use of pumps in storm ways, removal of debris and wastes for critical areas
  • Assist the operations and other activities as requested by our clients
  • All tasks in adherence to the HSEQ policies
  • Other duties as required
