JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vacex Operator Driver to join our team. Ideally, candidate will possess a background in construction. This role requires excellent communication skills and mechanical knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of the vehicle and adherence to delivery schedules.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid UK driving licence (HGV Class 2 preferred)
• CSCS Card (essential)
• Experience operating vacuum excavation units (Desirable but training can be provided)
• Good awareness of underground utility avoidance
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while on the road.

• Strong understanding of site health & safety procedures
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused

• Operate vacuum excavation equipment (suction excavators) safely and efficiently.
• Ensure timely and safe delivery of service while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, incidents, and delays. and vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, utility companies, and ground teams. regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Carry out non-invasive excavation near live utilities (gas, electric, water, telecoms).
• Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic repairs and maintenance on the lorry when necessary.
