Roto-Rooter, a trusted leader in plumbing, drainage, and septic services, is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Part-Time Vacuum Truck Operator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with experience operating vacuum trucks and a flexible schedule who takes pride in providing excellent service and maintaining a high standard of safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Class 5 with a clean driving abstract. Preference given to candidates with air brake endorsement or class 3 license.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of vacuum truck or related commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safe vacuum truck operation, liquid waste handling, and environmental safety practices.
  • Physically fit and able to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting hoses and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and be flexible with scheduling needs.
  • Safety certifications such as (First Aid/CPR & WHMIS) considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a vacuum truck to pump, haul, and dispose of liquid waste from grease traps, sumps, and other containment systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vacuum truck and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
  • Accurately complete paperwork, service logs, and disposal manifests.
  • Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls in a timely, professional manner.
  • Work closely with dispatchers, technicians, and customers to coordinate services.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Assist with basic site preparation, hose handling, and customer support when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and represent the company in a professional manner.
