Description JOB SUMMARY The Valet Attendant is responsible for driving, parking and retrieving customer cars in a safe and courteous manner and assist customers in and out of their vehicle. Valet Attendants play a crucial role in making sure all customers are given a professional, courteous and timely valet service, ensuring the proper collection of fees, while complying with department rules and regulations. The Attendant may work a designated shift, floating or rotating shift. The position provides 24/7 coverage. This position reports to the Manager of Valet or their designee. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Respond to guest questions in a prompt and courteous manner; welcome guests and put them at ease when taking possession of their vehicle; retrieve information and utilize handhelds; manage keys, stage vehicles, pull and organize hang tags, and conduct inventory. Observe all traffic laws and safe driving practices. Must be a safe, courteous, and a defensive driver. Safety conscience while moving and parking vehicles around employees, customers, and the public. Follow, know, and understand company policy and procedures. Learn and follow routines that are extremely repetitive by design. Learn and follow directions, execute procedures and routines without deviating from training. Understand and follow trained routines without direct supervision. Works well unsupervised in a highly structured environment for tracking purposes. Focus on the job and not be distracted. Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures receive various documentation, and reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records. Operates or uses various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or applicable software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. Communicates with Airport Authority officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. Performs other related duties as required. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: High school diploma or equivalent. Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience. Specific License or Certification Required: Valid South Carolina driver’s license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires the ability to function indoor in an office environment and outdoors engaged in a booth or extending standing while working at the valet booth. Work is of a sedentary nature while working in the booth and one of standing and minor walking when working the valet booth. Requires ambulatory ability to move to different work locations and to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. Requires arm, hand, and finger dexterity to and use a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Requires the ability to wear a variety of protective equipment and work in areas with temperature variations. Requires near and far visual acuity to observe moving vehicles and people read written materials. Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone, including the ability to project voice in noisy work settings. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed indoors and outdoors where some safety considerations exist from proximity to moving cars and trucks and environmental considerations.
