Job Details Job Location: Metro - Los Angeles, CA 90073 Salary Range: $22.67 - $22.67 Hourly Everpark Job Description Valet Runner (VA Hospital) – West Los Angeles VA Medical Center (WLA) Hourly Rate: $22.67/hour (non-exempt) Location: West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, 11301 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90073 Company: Everpark (on-site hospital parking/guest services) Position Summary The Valet Runner supports safe, respectful, and efficient arrival/departure experiences for Veterans, families, visitors, and staff at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. This role includes greeting guests, assisting with safe vehicle loading/unloading, supporting guests with mobility devices (including wheelchairs), coordinating with valet/parking staff, and maintaining compliance with VA safety, privacy, and on-site contractor requirements. This is a service-focused role in a healthcare environment. Professionalism, safety awareness, and respectful communication with Veterans (including those with disabilities) are essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Service & Communication Greet and assist Veterans, patients, visitors, and staff with a calm, courteous, and professional approach. Provide clear directions regarding valet procedures, pick-up locations, and traffic flow. Maintain respectful, trauma-informed, and disability-aware customer service in a medical setting. Mobility Assistance & Physical Support (Key Function) Assist guests in and out of vehicles when requested/appropriate, using safe body mechanics and respecting personal boundaries. Help load/unload mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, and canes. Coordinate support when a guest requires additional assistance to ensure safety. Operational Support Move quickly between valet zones, entrances, and staging areas to support guest flow. Coordinate with valets and supervisors to stage vehicles and support efficient retrieval. Report hazards, near-misses, accidents, and safety concerns immediately to supervision per site rules. Safety & Site Compliance Follow posted speed limits, pedestrian right-of-way requirements, and all facility traffic/pedestrian safety procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and safe staging areas (cones/signage as assigned). Follow VA facility rules while on government property (including identification/badge requirements where applicable). Privacy & Professional Conduct Maintain confidentiality in a healthcare environment (do not discuss patient information; avoid unnecessary exposure to sensitive conversations). Complete required VA privacy training as assigned based on job access and duties. Qualifications Required Qualifications Customer service experience in hospitality, transportation, parking, security, or healthcare-adjacent settings (preferred but not required). Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse populations, including Veterans and individuals with mobility limitations. Ability to follow written/verbal procedures and safety instructions. Driver Requirements (if driving is assigned) Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (per Everpark/client requirements). Ability to safely operate a variety of vehicle types (automatic; manual preferred if applicable). VA / Hospital Site Requirements (Contractor Compliance) Because this role is performed on a VA medical campus, candidates must be able to meet applicable on-site contractor requirements, which may include: VA-issued identification/badge requirements while on government property. Fingerprinting / background investigation steps as required for VA access and/or credentialing. Tuberculosis (TB) screening documentation (e.g., negative TB test within the prior year and periodic renewal as required by VA processes). Completion of any site-specific safety, privacy, or infection control orientation/training required for onsite personnel. Note: Specific badging/credentialing steps can vary by assignment and access level; Everpark will provide instructions after conditional offer and assignment confirmation. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including outdoors. Ability to push/pull wheelchairs and handle mobility equipment safely. Ability to bend, reach, squat, and lift/carry items associated with the role (e.g., mobility devices, small equipment, signage/cones). Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is primarily performed outdoors and around moving vehicles, pedestrians, and hospital traffic zones. Exposure to varying weather conditions and high-activity periods is expected. Schedule Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on hospital operations and coverage needs (facility operates 24/7 though services vary). Overtime may be required based on operational demand and is paid per applicable law. Compensation & Classification $22.67/hour, non-exempt (eligible for overtime per law).
