Description The Glen Oaks Club, a premier club in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Part Time Valet Attendant. The Glen Oaks Club is known for providing its members with an exceptional and personalized experience. For nearly 100 years the Glen Oaks Club has been evolving to maintain its stature as a home away from home for its member families. Summary: Ensure the safe handling of member and member guest vehicles while providing exceptional customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Park member and guest vehicles safely in designated areas. This involves driving various types of vehicles, including cars, SUVs, and sometimes larger vehicles like vans or trucks. Retrieve their vehicles promptly. Must provide courteous and professional service to members and member guests. This includes greeting, assisting them with their belongings if necessary, and answering any questions they may have about the valet service or the facility. Responsible for keeping the valet parking area clean and organized. This may involve sweeping, picking up trash, and ensuring the area is presentable at all times. Must adhere to all traffic laws and parking regulations while driving vehicles. They must also exercise caution when maneuvering vehicles in crowded parking lots or tight spaces. Entrusted with keys and must keep them secure at all times. You must follow the system in place for efficiently storing and retrieving keys to minimize wait times. Assisting with special requests such as needing their vehicle parked in a certain location or requiring assistance with luggage. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires valid Driver License Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
The valet attendant is responsible for the safe parking and retrieval of member and guest vehicles while maintaining a clean and organized parking area. They must provide exceptional customer service by greeting members and assisting with special requests or luggage.
