REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in the field of engineering utilizing CATIA is required
Mechanical Design/Drafting experience is required.
EDUCATION / TRAINING
Minimum of Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Science or equivalent
CAD software certification, a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
U.S. Citizenship is required
Ability to mentor or teach engineering student design team
CATIA V5, V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE is preferred
GD&T experience is a plus
Experience with Aerospace structures and component design is a plus
Ability to check manufacturing drawings to determine proper fit and function, correctness and completeness of information
Ability to multitask
Knowledge of general Manufacturing processes is a plus
Must have strong mechanical aptitude, good reasoning and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Data Management and Configuration Management principles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Self-starter with the ability to carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed 100% onsite at customer location.
Work is performed in a standard office environment and involves the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate on telephone and handle all calls in a professional and personable manner.
Vision must be good enough to read keyboards, computer screen, reference books, reports and other written documents
Ability to drive own or rental vehicle
ITAR REQUIREMENTS
Our organization has a responsibility to comply with all applicable requirements set forth by International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”, 22 CFR 120-130). As such, this position may have access to ITAR controlled information and must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Validate aerospace 3D CAD models, assemblies and 2D drawings designed in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE. Provide exceptional guidance, support and communication to engineering student design team.
ACTIVITIES AND DUTIES
The following activities and duties are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive:
Validate 3D models and assemblies according to project specific inputs and requirements.
Accurately interpret provided 3D models, drawings, specifications and requirements.
Provide exceptional guidance, support and communication to engineering student design team to ensure 3D models and assemblies are accurate and free of errors.
Assist with improving engineering student design team’s ability to create accurate 3D models and assemblies.
Communicate with customers and team members regarding project scope, change requests and milestone completions
Track project progress against bid hours using sources available to ensure project initiatives are met
Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service, on time and under budget
