A position has become available for a Valuations Manager to join our Australian Investment Management business. Joining the Valuations team that operates within the Investment Management business, you will work closely with the current Valuation Managers across our highly regarded funds management platform (Office, Industrial, Retail and BTR) current worth $32 billion. About the role As Valuations Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the external and internal valuation process for various property assets and portfolios under management and provide strategic valuation advice to/for various Funds Managers both internally and externally. Leveraging deep understanding of asset performance and financial fundamentals, the Valuations Manager will have a genuine ability to foster relationships and provide leadership and direction to internal teams, and a strong ability to engage with Senior Executives within Investment Management. Further elements of the role will include: Work within the IM Valuation team in the management of the valuation process (internal and external valuations) of all Funds under management. This includes being consulted in developing and delivering the external valuation strategy ensuring valuations are accurate, compliant with appropriate valuation and accounting standards, provided in a timely manner and are aligned to the various asset and fund strategies. Drive the external Valuation process including: Recommendation of external valuers from a Valuation Panel to Fund Managers; Instruction of external valuations; Co-ordinating valuation information packs to valuers working closely with finance, Investment and Property Mangers as required; Co-ordinating and reviewing draft valuation workings and reports prior to recommending adoption of the various funds and mandates; Preparation and presentation of Valuation Committee Papers; Preparation and presentation of Valuation Papers to respective Boards. Internal valuation process for fair value reporting purposes Liaising with external valuers and various internal stakeholders on interim internal valuations utilising market accepted valuation models (including Forbury and Estate Master). Responsible for monitoring and analysing the capital value performance of assets and portfolios against the asset strategy, budgets and fund returns providing a recommendation to various internal and external stakeholders on any positive or negative implications. Consulted on the 5–10-year asset strategies and budgets whilst working closely with the Fund teams to develop and deliver short to long term valuation forecasts. Provide support on identified business/development opportunities, providing analytical support for investment recommendations. About you Several years’ + experience in the valuation of institutional grade retail, office, BTR/residential development and/or industrial properties. Hold appropriate membership(s) related to the position (e.g. AAPI and/or MRICS. Prior experience in cash flow analysis, performance calculations and/or asset management. Experience in proprietary excel based valuation modelling (e.g. Forbury, Estate Master). An understanding of the inter-relationship and responsibilities of fund, asset and property management, finance and investment services disciplines, and the ability to coordinate in the pursuit of achieving business objectives. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
