2nd Shift Value-Add Lead Technician VAM Building $23.03 to $32.24 plus $1 shift differential    The Value-Add Lead Technician is responsible for coordinating daily operations within the Value-Add area while actively supporting production through CNC machining, seasoning, packaging, and final quality verification. This position serves as the primary point of contact for daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer requirements are achieved while providing technical support and leadership to team members. The Value-Add Lead Technician acts as the bridge between production supervision and the Value-Add team by coordinating workflow, training employees, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Reports to: • Manager, VAM Operations Direct Reports: • None Functional Relationships: • Cross Functional Department Managers and Supervisors • Cross Functional Department Team Members Responsibilities: Leadership & Daily Operations • Arrive prior to shift start to prepare daily operations • Review production schedules and customer priorities • Coordinate daily activities within the Value-Add area • Monitor workflow to ensure production goals are met • Communicate staffing, material, equipment, and quality concerns • Conduct shift handoffs and communicate priorities to incoming teams Value-Add Lead Technician JOB DESCRIPTION • Assist in training and onboarding of Value-Add team members • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement • Support employee development and cross-training CNC Machining Operations • Operate CNC lathes and mills used in Value-Add processing • Load and manage CNC programs • Make offset adjustments and tooling corrections • Perform machine setups and changeovers • Monitor machine performance and quality output • Coordinate preventative maintenance activities • Troubleshoot machining issues and escalating when necessary • Track tooling consumption and replacement requirements Seasoning Line Support • Assist in the oil application and oven-curing process used to season cast iron • Ensure consistent finish and product quality across batches • Monitor oven timing, surface coverage, and material handling safety Packing and Final Handling • Pack finished goods to customer and retail specifications (e.g., sleeves, cartons, labels) • Conduct final quality checks for surface finish, completeness, and branding • Follow labeling, stacking, and palletizing procedures for shipment readiness Cross-Functional Contribution • Work independently and follow work orders with minimal supervision • Communicate effectively with team members and quality assurance • Participate in team problem-solving and process improvement efforts • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned work Candidate Profile: Basic Requirements: • High school diploma or GED • Working knowledge of computers and file systems (Windows-based) • Ability to load CNC files and make basic adjustments (e.g., offsets, file selection) • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor in a manufacturing environment • Strong attention to detail and self-directed work ethic Summary of Necessary Knowledge, Experience and Skills: • Experience operating CNC equipment in a production setting – 2 to 4 years preferred • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar) • Experience in cast iron or cookware manufacturing – 2 to 4 years preferred • Understanding of basic mechanical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers) ** Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. **
