Description
SUMMARY Responsible for being able to run all value add orders to safety, quality and productions standards. Team members will cross train and learn all positions within Value Add.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   Grader Responsibilities 1. Setting up the line based on product description. 2. Responsible for the overall flow of product on the line. 3. Knowledgeable of customer specifications and grading criteria of UV applications and panels. 4. Ensuring the correct disposition of material based on grading criteria. 5. Completing operator PMs and assisting in maintaining the equipment. 6. Changing sander belts. 7. Troubleshoot and diagnose minor problems with sanders, feeder and stacker equipment. 8. Makes mechanical adjustments to sanders as required for proper finished sand. 9. Adheres and drives improvement to current 5S standards for that area.   Forklift Operations Infeed Forklift Responsibilities: 1. Complete pre-shift forklift inspection prior to operating forklift. 2. The operator will follow the schedule for the shift, keeping the UV Technician and/or Stain Technician informed when there is a product change and line need to be set up with correct wood. 3. Stages wood for upcoming orders. 4. Keeps wood on the infeed conveyor to optimize production of the UV line. 5. Cross trains with all other positions within the department.   Outfeed Forklift Responsibilities: 1. Complete pre-shift forklift inspection prior to operating forklift. 2. Prints tickets for each unit. 3. Verifies ticket against MUT. 4. Verifies face and back for each bundle according to MUT. 5. Changes over coater #4 and flushes out for solids.   Banding Responsibilities 1. Changes drums of coatings 2. Cuts color retains for color runs. 3. Assists with clean up after stain runs; wiping buckets at waste station. 4. Uses correct cardboard covers for customer orders. 5. Places tickets on unit. 6. Checks thickness of panels for each unit.   Laminate Responsibilities 1. Responsible for setting up the line based on product description. 2. Responsible for the overall flow of products on the line. 3. Maintains inventory accuracy through ERP transactions. 4. Monitors quality by completing proper quality checks. 6. Able to change paper rolls. 7. Able to make proper adjustments. 8. Completion of operator preventive maintenance. 9. Responsible for 5S standards for that area 10. Follows standardized work. 11. Reports any problems arising in safety, quality or production to the Team Lead. 12. Completes pre-shift forklift inspection prior to operating forklift.   All Team members will report any problems arising in safety, quality or production to the Team Lead.
