QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 15 years of related technical, operational and maintenance valve experience in the North American Petrochemical/Midstream Industry;
  • P.Eng. or P.Tech (APEGA) in a Mechanical or Materials discipline is preferred;
  • Possess a strong background in valve design, QA & QC, vendor management, preventative and predictive maintenance practices, root cause analysis and risk analysis. Demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement, be detail oriented and be able to demonstrate alignment with our core values. Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products;
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize a high-volume of competing tasks in a fast-paced environment while managing stakeholder and sponsor expectations;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technical skills, tools, and frameworks in response to evolving project requirements and emerging technologies; and
  • A team player with ability to build collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance and support to Operations and maintenance practices in a collaborative way to ensure the longevity and reliability of valves;
  • Support projects to make critical decisions related to valve selection and design to ensure optimal functionality for the life of the asset and compliance with jurisdictional requirements. This would include selection of appropriate materials for valve construction,
  • considering factors such as durability, cost, and application;
  • Develop and maintain valve specifications and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and code requirements;
  • Provide comprehensive support to Operations and Integrity staff to improve current valve performance and integrity;
  • Assist supply chain to identify preferred vendors, manage relationships, and support the procurement process to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness;
  • Assist Operations to conduct thorough investigations into valve failures, identifying root causes and assisting with implementing corrective actions.
  • Collect incident data, run reports, categorize and rank incidents based on type, consequence, potential, regulatory implications, environmental impact, to help in identifying systemic patterns, predicting potential issues, and implementing preventive measures;
  • Continuously adapt to emerging technologies and evolving technical requirements by actively acquiring new skills, applying innovative solutions, and integrating feedback into daily problem-solving;
