Van Driver Aide (Southside Enterprise) Full-Time Farmville, Virginia We are currently accepting applications for a Van Driver Aide to support our Day Support Program located in Farmville/Cumberland County, VA. This position involves working a daily split shift totaling approximately 40 hours per week. As a Van Driver Aide, you will be responsible for safely transporting individuals to and from one of our Day Support Program sites using an agency vehicle. In addition to transportation duties, this role also includes assisting individuals in the building and helping maintain a clean and safe environment. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday * Morning Route: 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM * Lunch Break: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM * Afternoon Route: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM During the time in the building, the Van Driver Aide will assist staff with individuals served and help with general cleaning duties. This position follows OSHA regulations, and the selected candidate must be trained in First Aid and CPR. QUALIFICATIONS: * Valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record * Availability to work a flexible schedule * High school diploma or GED KNOWLEDGES OF: 1. The disability of mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities. 2. Vehicle operating procedures. 3. Basic computational math. 4. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) security and privacy regulations as they relate to the protection of confidential medical information and personal health information as required by law, professional ethics and accreditation requirements. ABILITIES TO: 1. Work effectively and establish positive working relationships with people who have a wide variety of backgrounds, disabilities, and levels of functioning. 2. Determine appropriate levels of interaction with passengers. 3. Maintain control of a vehicle at all times.
