EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards is essential.
  • Experience with flatbed vehicles is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial for basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.

Responsibilities

DUTIES

  • Safely operate a van for the delivery of goods to various locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
  • Provide basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues as they arise.
  • Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.
