Main Responsibilities Safely and efficiently deliver building materials and timber products to a wide variety of customers, including both trade professionals and retail clients in the Merton area Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting any issues promptly to ensure compliance and safety at all times Work closely with branch and yard teams to ensure orders are accurately loaded for delivery Represent Lawsons by providing excellent customer service on every delivery, answering questions and ensuring a positive customer experience Accurately maintain delivery paperwork and records in line with company procedures Follow all Health & Safety guidelines to protect yourself, colleagues, and customers Support the branch with other duties when required, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team Key Skills & Experience Full UK driving licence Previous experience as a van driver or multi-drop delivery driver is highly desirable, ideally within a builders’ merchant or similar environment Good understanding of road safety, vehicle upkeep, and safe manual handling procedures Strong commitment to customer service, with effective communication skills and a helpful, respectful manner Organised, reliable, and punctual with the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team Flexible attitude and willingness to take on a variety of tasks as operational needs require Working Hours – Van Driver Careers at Lawsons, Merton This is a full-time, permanent position. Core hours are Monday to Friday 07:00 –16.30 with alternate Saturday mornings 08:00 –12:00.
