We are currently recruiting for a Van Driver to work from our Glasgow head office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of our Copier, Printer and Mailroom products to customers across the UK.
Whilst the main duty of this role will be delivering our equipment to customers, the successful candidate will also benefit from the support & experience of the current Field Service Engineering team to develop a competency in setting up and installing office equipment.
The candidate will be based in Glasgow area and will cover areas across Scotland. A clean driving licence is essential (a maximum of 3 points would be acceptable).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Manual lifting experience is essential, although motorized equipment is provided the job at times requires manual handling of heavy equipment
  • This is a customer facing role, the candidate must be professional in both manner and appearance at all times
  • The candidate must have the ability to work under pressure, on their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good time keeping and communication skills are imperative
  • The candidate must have the ability to liaise with staff and clients at all levels

    This is a full time, permanent position. Hours of work are 08:30-17:30 Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a long wheel-based van or a vehicle equivalent in size and/or load capacity to transport goods to and from specified destinations, as directed.
  • Fuel the assigned vehicle using fuel card.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as checking oil, water, and tyres; report any non-routine problems or malfunctioning equipment to management.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Assist in the creation of appropriate van schedule and ensure the plan is deliverable/achievable within designated working hours.
  • Read and interpret van schedule and assist/plan the most efficient route and service for customers.
  • Provide a communication link between customers and staff.
  • Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Follow specified instructions, procedures, and standards for the efficient and safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Conform to all local traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of a commercial van.
  • Assist in maintaining the warehouse in an organised and efficient manner
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Deliver/setup machines to “Green button demonstration”
  • Shadow/buddy with lead engineer
  • Liaise with Logistics Controller
