Due to business requirements, a need has arisen within the United Drug Distributors Operations team for 2 permanent, experienced Van Drivers based out of the United Drug Dublin Depot. This position is reporting to the Transport supervisor. Hours of work will be 40 hours per week, between Monday and Sunday. Work outside these hours will be required from time to time. Overnight Trunking may also be required from time to time.

ESSENTIAL INTERNAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
No live disciplinary proceedings / recorded warnings.
A clean driving licence.
Experience working in a warehouse operations environment is desirable.
Excellent organizational skills
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal English
Experience using a logistics tracking system.
A self-starter with a supportive mind-set
Flexible to work around operational requirements which may include working outside normal hours to ensure proper preparations for various events and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Load vehicle for delivery, as per Work Instruction.
Ensure prompt and efficient delivery of products to Pharmacies, Hospitals and G.P.s and other customers.
Be able to use Delivery technology such as a Logistics Tracking System device (LTS),
Print a temperature mapping report if required, obtain a signed proof of delivery (POD) and leave a copy of the proof of temperature with the individual accepting the delivery, if required.
Deal with and assist in resolving customer queries as they arise.
Advise your manager immediately of any mechanical or service issues with your vehicle.
Ensure Van is maintained to a high standard inside and out to reflect good name of the company.
Ensure that uniform is always clean and presentable.
Process and label returns from customers as they arise.
Remove all returns from vehicle and place in a designated area in the warehouse at the end of shift.
Return vehicle to the depot at the end of shift. Vehicles are not to be taken home at night.
Refuel and clean vans every evening.
Standard shift will be 8 hours per day.
Shift start times will vary depending on the demands of the business.
Be on site 15 minutes before shift starts.
Maintain appropriate delivery documentation as per company’s SOPs.
Complete a Company Driver Declaration form annually for insurance purposes.
Report any accidents to your manager.
To take all reasonable care with United Drug equipment and property.
