Description

Woodland Group are recruiting a Van Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our team based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Van Driver/Warehouse Operative will safely and effectively collect, deliver and transport goods in accordance with the requirements of the Company and its customer(s) and in line with all relevant Company policy and legislation.
Immediate Start!
It is essential to have an in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence for this position.

Responsibilities
  • To promote the good name of the Company amongst customers, suppliers and the general public alike as a front-line representative of the business;
  • Work with the management team to continually improve processes and business performance; and
  • Support changes in the role necessary to take the Company forward.
  • Achieve agreed individual objectives and meet operational targets; and
  • Understand and adhere to all Woodland policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Take all measures reasonably practicable and safe to ensure that all deliveries and collections are completed effectively and efficiently, meeting the needs and requirements of the business and the customer. Highlight any issues preventing this to the transport team in a timely manner and work with the team to address the matter appropriately;
  • Maintain an excellent level of communication with the transport team, customers, suppliers, third-parties and the general public in order to maximise the success of the operation;
  • To maintain professional and appropriate self-presentation, including but not limited to uniform, and Company vehicle presentation, at all times;
  • To ensure all Company property used, including, but not limited to, Company vehicles, IT equipment, documentation, uniform and security tags, is maintained in good condition and working order and is kept securely as appropriate;
  • To act in such a way so as to consistently protect ones own health and safety as well as that of others. To follow all Company risk assessments, safe operating procedure and health and safety policy and to operate in accordance with all health and safety legislation. To report any health and safety concerns to management without undue delay;
  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the Company.
  • To maintain a current, full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points at any given time; and
