Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, Varsity Sport Announcer will be responsible to work both conference and exhibition games as well as any tournaments and playoffs. These functions are of moderate complexity and the sport official performs them using established instructions. The list of functions outlined below is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by the incumbent.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs setup and take down of event equipment.
  • Finalizes script for games (Teams, officials names, starting line-up, etc)
  • Announce advertisements and half-time shows
  • Operates Public Address (PA) system and music system during game play.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Sport specific knowledge is required
  • Must be able to work evenings (Wed-Sat) and weekends (Sat-Sun)
  • Must be punctual, organized, reliable and have the ability to multitask
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Bilingualism is required - at a proficient level; script will be provided
