Vascular Sonographer Schedule: this is a PRN role. How you’ll contribute A Vascular Sonographer who excels in this role: * Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable. * Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities. * Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. * Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area. * Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth. * Checks the physician's requisition for complete information on the procedure requested' refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure. * Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines. * Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and be able to differentiate artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures within equipment limitations. * Possesses an in-depth knowledge of anatomy/physiology, technical expertise and able to improve standard procedures to enhance diagnostic results when needed. What we’re looking for Applicants should have an associate degree in ultrasound/sonography or equivalent and a New Mexico license to practice as a vascular sonographer.
