Ashmole & Co are an established firm in South Wales, with offices in Haverfordwest, Abergavenny, Ammanford, Cardigan, Carmarthen, Llandeilo, Llandovery and Swansea. We are looking for a VAT and Bookkeeping Clerk with a minimum of 2 years’ experience to join our team. There are excellent career prospects for this candidate as our firm continues to grow, and we are looking for a person to match our ambitions.
Job Purpose:
To provide a VAT and Bookkeeping function for a range of clients in accordance with financial regulations, legislation and HMRC protocols
(The job holder will carry out some or all of the following tasks depending upon experience, training and location)
Main Duties:
· Undertakes the preparation of client VAT accounts periodically as allocated.
· Undertakes a range of routine office and clerical functions in relation to VAT as required.
· Maintains manual and computerised records in accordance with legislation and firm’s policies and procedures.
· Undertakes bookkeeping procedures for clients, either on Xero, Sage, Excel or in any other format.
· When necessary, undertake any other bookkeeping duties.
· Responsible for the safekeeping of confidential client records including receipts, invoices in accordance with relevant legislation.
· Responds to enquiries from clients, employees and other external sources as required.
· Answers enquiries from a variety of sources, resolves the majority, referring others as necessary.
· In the absence of staff, assists with other duties including the preparation of accounts, reception etc.
· The job holder is responsible for his/ her own health and safety.
· The job holder will attend training courses, Company meetings and other team events as required.
· Demonstrates a commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.
