JOB DESCRIPTION:

Tutors will be expected to:
1. Conduct Weekly Classes:
Deliver one-on-one, small group, or classroom-based lessons in your preferred subject area on a weekly basis. Classes may be in person or online, depending on student and tutor availability.
2. Systematic Delivery of Content:
Teach subject content in a structured, thorough, and engaging manner, ensuring alignment with the Victorian Curriculum or relevant academic standards. Tutors should adjust their pace and strategies based on the student’s level and learning style.
3. Lesson Preparation:
Prepare lesson plans and learning materials in advance of each session. Weekly lesson notes may be created by the tutor or sourced from RL Education’s internal teaching resource database, with room for personalisation.
4. Homework Setting and Feedback:
Assign appropriate homework after each session to reinforce learning. Provide timely feedback and monitor student progress through regular homework review and class discussions.
5. Tracking and Reporting Progress:
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, engagement, and any concerns. Communicate with parents or academic coordinators when necessary to provide updates and support student growth.
6. Professional Conduct:
Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism, punctuality, and communication in all interactions with students, parents, and the RL Education team.
7. Ongoing Improvement:
Participate in training sessions, mentoring programs, and performance reviews. Tutors are expected to incorporate feedback and continuously reflect on their teaching to improve student outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Outstanding knowledge in a VCE/IB subject e.g. English, Maths, Science – Minimum Year 12 completed, higher education degrees will take priority, including Graduate Diploma in Education and registration with the VIT
