Title: Student Music and Events Worker
Department: Music Department
Reports To: Music Department Admin Assistant
Position Summary:
Help in various areas to the Music Department, including technical support for a wide range of events, concerts, and conferences. Responsibilities set up for events, hanging department event posters, filing music in the music library, making copies of sheet music for professors. Students are required to attend event set-up meetings and should be available for evening and weekend shifts. Customer service is integral to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student during the period of employment.
  • Must be able to work with minimum direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work well with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Lifting of 50-75lbs preferred
  • Experience with sound and lighting is preferred. However, less experienced candidates may be hired, and the necessary technical skills will be trained/learned on the job.

Responsibilities
  • Filing Music in music library, making copies of sheet music.
  • Stage Manager to events, including audio-visual equipment set-up for events. To include, microphones, instrument connections, sound systems, data projection systems, theatrical lighting, and others, as needed, per event.
  • Independent time management according to event workflow.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist bands, performers, and event organizers with questions and requests for service.
  • Employ basic problem-solving/troubleshooting skills but know how to seek assistance when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
